About

Alexa Holban is the poetry pen name of non-fiction author Alexa Ispas.

Alexa turned to poetry as a way of healing from trauma, when her seemingly healthy son Ethan abruptly went into end-stage heart failure at age two-and-a-half.

Ethan was diagnosed with “dilated cardiomyopathy,” a condition characterized by an enlarged heart, and put on the urgent heart transplant list.

Several harrowing years followed, which included spending a year in hospital by Ethan’s side, not knowing whether he would live or die, waiting for the gift that eventually saved his life.

During this time, Alexa used poetry as a way of transforming her life experiences into powerful wisdom to share with anyone who needs it.

Alexa believes that by providing clarity and powerful imagery, poetry can bring light into even the darkest of places, allowing us to turn our difficult feelings into nourishment for the soul.

May the poems in these books bring light and clarity into your own life, dear reader. And if they do, please feel free to get in touch: mail@alexaholban.com
